    Hello View Customers,

I'm pleased to announce this new functionality in PTF LU08429. View now supports the "SJ" command!  Read more about this below.

This enhancement provides SJ Selection Option capability in View, SJ Selection Option displays the original JCL for the archived SYSOUT or JOB. You can also edit and re-submit the JCL. This Selection Option can be used on the Sysout/Job Selection List as well as on the Data Set List.

To display the JCL, it is required that the JESJCLIN is archived for the SYSOUT or JOB. View collects JESJCLIN when FEATURE=18 is set for the View database, you can set this parameter by using SARINIT for the VIEW database.

JESJCLIN is a JCL listing, for reference on how to archive JCL listings please go to View Documentation and look for: Reference -> Archiving -> Archive SYSOUT -> Archival of JCL Listings

SJ Selection Option can be controlled by the RESUBJCL parameter which can be set by using SARINIT for the View database. Below are the values that can be set for the RESUBJCL parameter.

    RESUBJCL=No|Yes

No  - Disable the SJ Selection Option for the View database.
              This is the default value.
Yes - Enable the SJ Selection Option for the View database.

Note: The RESUBJCL initialization parameter is supported only for
the databases that are versioned to View v14.

Following SAF calls are made for the SJ Selection Option when the View uses external security:

        1. Browse SYSOUT or JOB authority for the View database.

        2. SJ Selection Option requires all users have Read access
to the JESSPOOL resource class for the resource name when
selecting the SYSOUT or JOB, below is the resource name
           format:

           jesnode.userid.jobname.jobid.JCL

           Where:
jesnode: NJE node ID of the JES2 or JES3 subsystem.
userid : userid of the job owner in the View database.
jobname: jobname archived in the View database.
jobid  : jobid archived in the View database.

ISPF environment should be available for using the SJ Selection Option.

When using SAR mode if the distribution-id is restricted from viewing the specific SYSOUTS then the SJ Selection Option will not be allowed for the restricted SYSOUTS.

If VIEWTAPE=NO is specified for the SYSOUT or JOB in the ERO table, users will not be able to use the SJ Selection Option if that SYSOUT or JOB resides on tape.

These are the alternatives for SJ Selection Options: JCL, JJCL

Note: SJ Selection Option is not supported as JCL is not collected for Deliver Reports, PDF or LPD, ACIF|AFP SYSOUTS.

    Regards,

    Ed Blazejewski
