Subject:  SYSVIEW 17.0 Continuous Delivery Feature PTF General Availability Announcement

On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services.  As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success under the Continuous Delivery model, we are pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) of the following feature PTF:

LU12361- Software Risk Assessment: Accepts and Error PTFs

This PTF contains several enhancements to Software Risk Assessment (SRA). SRA provides systems programmers with information about maintenance, product lifecycle, Broadcom licensing, and keyrings and certificates for the mainframe products that are installed on their site.

These Software Risk Assessment features are also available to users of the SYSVIEW Essentials configuration. SYSVIEW Essentials Configuration users, please refer to this link for details.

Updates included with this PTF are -

    • PTFS command updates:
      • Accepted PTFs: Users can determine when and where a PTF was accepted on the PTFS command display. They can access information about PTFs that were accepted by SMP/E.
      • SMP/E Errors: Users can determine if there are any PTFs that introduced risk to the environment due to SMP/E errors on the PTFS command display. They can retrieve information about and evaluate the risk that is associated with PTFs that incurred an SMP/E error during the SMP/E apply or accept process. For more information, see PTFS Command Data Fields in Software Risk Assessment Enhancements.
    • MODIDS updates: Users can determine if there are load modules that can potentially introduce risk to the environment errors on the MODIDS command display. They can view summarized information about load modules and their attributes that might introduce risk to the system on the command in the Software Risk Assessment section. For more information, see Enhanced Commands in Software Risk Assessment Enhancements.
    • PTFCVSS Updates: Users can view additional information about each SECINT PTF that has been published on the PTFCVSS command.
    • Deprecated PTFCVSS Command HTTP Retrieval Functionality: The command no longer supports retrieving the CVSS CSV file over HTTP. It must now read the file from a data set or USS file. The command can read the PTF CVSS CSV file from a z/OS data set or a USS file. For more information, see Updated Xmllib Members in Software Risk Assessment Enhancements or SVWXCVSS.

We have included a Product Brief that details the features and highlights of this release.
