    Dear valued community members,

We would like  to announce an enhancement to Smart/RESTART with the introduction of the DOUBLE_COMMIT parameter. This new feature enables users to exert greater control over their applications' synchronization points, allowing for immediate physical checkpoints through the recognition of two consecutive SQL COMMIT statements.

The DOUBLE_COMMIT parameter in Smart/RESTART plays a role in determining whether two consecutive SQL COMMIT statements should trigger an instant physical checkpoint. Essentially, it functions as the equivalent of making an RAI API call with function=CKPT_IMMED.

For detailed insights into the DOUBLE_COMMIT parameter and its configuration, please visit our documentation.

    PTF LU12300:

To access this groundbreaking feature, make sure to apply PTF LU12300, which introduces the DOUBLE_COMMIT parameter to Smart/RESTART.

Thank you for being part of our community!

    Best regards,
