A idea was posted on Vantage Ideation portal describing a new method to notify or send short messages from Vantage using Webhook.
How this can work?
Essentially it could be a new action for Vantage GOA and MA scripts much like Perform Object action or Send Email that will POST a message when the defined criteria is met. The posted message from Vantage GOA or MA script will be picked up by a listener and brought to one or a group attention via a messaging application.
Let take a GOA script that monitor a threshold as example. When the threshold is breached, Vantage will POST a message that is picked up by a messaging application, Slack or other, and made available to a channel where all Storage administrators can read it. This solution could be more agile in terms of time to react and provide better visibility when someone acknowledged, in this case, the alert.
Another use case is that you could expose Vantage data to users/personas that are not having mainframe account or access to Vantage. For example, over allocation of a storage group can be brought to Application Owner attention so they can react from their end.
