New IUA Board members & IUA election

The IUA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members to replace exited board members.  The new board members are Clayton Heathscott (working for Ensono) and Greg Sveinbjornson (working for CGI).   Here is a brief bio for each:

Clayton, a beginner in the field of Mainframe, began his journey in 2021 with DB2. His transition to IDMS through the IDMS Vitality Program in 2022 marked a pivotal moment, leading him to his current role at Ensono. As an IDMS DBA, he actively contributes to process optimization, participates in DR drills, and ensures the efficient operation of the IDMS CV's.

Greg is a recent graduate of the Broadcom Mainframe Vitality program in 2023, where he learned about the mainframe basics to break into the industry. This included product specific training for IDMS to work as a DBA. After the Vitality program Greg was placed at CGI for a two month residency that led to a full-time IDMS DBA role this year and is currently taking over all database work for one of CGI's clients.

Please join the Board on welcoming Clayton and Greg to the IUA Community and the IUA Board. 

We will be holding an IUA election during the IDMS User Group Worshop & MTE (Mainframe Technical Exchange) in Plano Texas on September 9th-12th 2024.   Please plan on attending !  If you are interested in joining the IUA Board, please let us know by sending an email to [e-mail].

Hi Tom,
It's been a long time ! How are you?
Thank you for your interest on being on the board! So hard nowadays to find volunteers. To tell you the truth, I'll have to check our IUA board policies to verify that a vendor can be on the board. For sure we do not accept Broadcom employees on the board. I'm presently on vacation in Jordan, so will only be able to check when I get back home on the 22nd. So I'll keep you posted.

We wouldn’t want to break any rules. We’re looking forward to the conference and I hope we see a good turnout of IDMS sites.
