Datacom CADRE Community members,
As part of our overall strategy to optimize your Multi-User Facility environments, the Datacom group is pleased to announce the general availability of VSAM Linear Dataset Support for the Log File (LXX). Support for the LXX completes the delivery of support for the three Datacom system files: the Force Log File (FXX), the Control File (or Directory, CXX) and the Log File (LXX). Support for the system files was preceded by support for data and index areas.
With this enhancement, customers can now move their entire environments (data areas, index areas and system files) to VSAM to achieve the following benefits: Pervasive Encryption, further zIIP offload for I/O and possible performance improvement.
