Hello, Mainframe community and DCI users!
On behalf of the DCI development team, I am sharing a bunch of news and updates. Continue reading to find more details about:

AUTOMATED ZFS DATA CLEANUP
The zFS Data Clean-up Feature is designed to save space in the USS directory and free the user of a manual effort to do a cleanup routine for their environment.
- Implemented dynamically without a need of stopping the controllers
- Cleanup handles CSV deletion as well as Internal / External INDEX references for range-based qualified data.
- MSUDB as the original data store is preserved and recoverable using CSVBATCH UTILITY
The zFS Data Clean-up parameter can be found in DCI Menu in Options (OPT 1.). By default it comes with ALL as the parameter value, meaning all the data are retained. See Fig 1.
( Fig 2 – CSV RETENTION parameter edit panel )
The data rage range is described on the related help panel. See Fig. 3
( Fig 3 – CSV RETENTION help panel)
When the zFS cleanup takes effect, transparency is promoted via appropriate log messages related to the deletion, including the affected (in scope) files. These messages can be found in the DCIRLOG of the DCI CONTROLLER See example with Fig. 4 & 5
( Fig 4 – CSV RETENTION related messages in DCIRLOG of DCI CONTROLLER )
( Fig 5 – List out of in-scope CSV files for CSV CLEANUP in DCIRLOG of DCI CONTROLLER )
Finally, in case of any deletion by a mistake CSV BATCH utility helps affected users to recover the needed data from DCI MSUDB. See fig. 6

LEVELSET SUPPORT FOR WEB UI
This enhancement ensures that product information is unified through all interfaces. Showing identical Product name, copyright text, and V.R.M from the z/OS level set load module allows for quick referencing and speeding up the L1 issue resolution in case you would seek our support.
This functionality is available via PTF LU10226
EXTERNALIZE SOME E AND S-LEVEL MESSAGES ISSUED BY DCI AGENTS
This Enhancement increases the visibility of important messages for operators and enables automated responses and actions by auto-
operations software when desired.
How? Via changing the E and S-level messages which were formerly written to DCILOG DD to the WTOs which will appear in Agent and Controller job logs and on the z/OS console log.
This first phase focuses on the agent HMC communication subtask and is intended to be rolled out incrementally. Additional feature
fixes will be delivered in the future to expand the facility.
This functionality is available via PTF LU09570
ADD LICENSE CHECK TO DCI AGENT
Broadcom mainframe products that deliver enhancements using Continuous Delivery (CD) such as DCI can use the Common Components and Services (CCS) Feature Registration Service (FRS) to register themselves with the IBM Function Registry for z/OS enabling you to have more insights of:
- The running Broadcom mainframe products that have been registered through the FRS
- The features of those products, include:
- The feature state (enabled or disabled)
- How often the feature was used (if the product calculates feature usage)
- The maintenance levels of those products
This enhancement uses the #FLOID call to identify LPARs where DCI agents are
deployed, based on the above-mentioned IBM SCRT report.
This functionality is available via PTF LU10524
