Level Set PTF 15.0.06 (LU09331) for the Common Components and Services for z/OS is now available.

The following list summarizes the features that are delivered by applying the Level Set PTF.

Note: For more information about these features, see Level Set 15.0.06 in the Release Notes in the Common Components and Services for z/OS documentation.

    • CCS IDT for Zowe Extension

The CCS IDT for Zowe extension is now available as part of the Common Components and Services. This extension enables Zowe to use the CCS SAF service to generate and validate SAF identity tokens (IDTs), instead of using the native Zowe implementation. The extension integrates with your External Security Manager (ESM) to provide increased security. Using the CCS IDT for Zowe extension provides high stability and improved performance when you implement IDTs at your site.

    • Updated CAISCRT Job for Broadcom SCRT Reports

An updated CAISCRT JCL member is now available for you to use when generating Broadcom ISV SCRT reports. This member replaces the existing CAISCRT member in hlq.CAW0JCL. The updated member provides instructions for specifying your Broadcom customer number and the code page settings. The member has also been streamlined to remove parameters for containers and Tailored Fit Pricing, which do not apply to Broadcom SCRT reports. Using this updated member ensures that you generate valid reports that can be uploaded to the Broadcom SCRT Report Management site.

    • CCS Apache Tomcat Upgrade

The CCS Apache Tomcat version has been upgraded to 9.0.70. Keeping this software current ensures that you have the latest functionality and protects you from security vulnerabilities.

    • CCS SAF Service

The CCS SAF Service is a callable service for the Security Authorization Facility. The SAF interface extensions increase the interfaces that are available when using the System USS callable services. This callable service is available to non-APF authorized callers with the appropriate resource permissions to issue the associated functions that are available through the CCS SAF Service. The ESM Microservice uses the CCS SAF Service to support data set authorization checks under IBM RACF.

    • L-Serv Feature Registration

L-Serv features are now registered with the IBM Function Registry for z/OS. You can view the status and use count of L-Serv features by using the SYSVIEW FXE display, the IBM FXEPRINT batch utility, or the D FXE z/OS system command.

    • Hyphen Support in Rule Set Names for Message Service

You can now use hyphens (-) in the rule set names for the Message Service. This support allows rule set names to follow the z/OS data set naming requirements.

    • z/OSMF Configuration Workflow

You can now use a z/OSMF workflow to configure the following components and services:

    o   Resource Initialization Manager (CAIRIM)

    o   Event Notification Facility (CAIENF)

o   International Common Communications Interface (CAICCI)

    o   Global SubSystem (GSS)

o   CA Common Logger Service (CALOGGER)

o   CA Common Variable Service (CAVARSRV)

The workflow is a browser-based user interface that automates and streamlines many of the required tasks. This workflow benefits experienced systems programmers and installers with less expertise.
