Cagen Version upgrade from V8.0 to V8.6

Hi All,

We are currently using Cagen application in V8.0 . Please let me know if this should be upgraded to higher V8.6.Any deadlines to do it.

Could you please guide me on the risks if it is not upgraded. I believe both the version has same schema levels.

Hi Swami Nathan,
Yes we highly recommend upgrading to v8.6. After 6/30/2021, v8.6 will be the only supported version available.  Given our adoption of Continuous Delivery, we expect to be on v8.6 for a long time , so it's well worth your investment to upgrade now.

Upgrading ensures you will have full support, the latest functionality, and compatibility with integrated 3rd party software. The longer you wait to upgrade, the more divergent your version will be, making upgrades in the future riskier.

In addition to Kim's comments, on the Broadcom support portal Mainframe Software page (https://support.broadcom.com/mainframe-software) you can find the link to the Release and Support Lifecycle Dates

As you can see Gen 8.0 ended support over 4 years ago on August 31, 2016 and per Kim's comments Gen 8.5 will end support on June 30, 2021.
