I am getting the following error when I attempt to 'retrieve a trace file' from Workstation Client Director.

'You are not permitted to issue VERB control to agent ....

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Silvia: to help us get you some help, can you let us know what product and version you're using?

    Hello,

If you use ESP as the scheduling manager running on mainframe, this is related to the ESP security profile setting. So please contact your ESP support and/or sys admin, who can check if your user ID has proper access to prefix.

    AGENTMSG.verbsubverb.agentname.

    Hope this helps,

    Lucy

    Lucy,

I was reviewing the documentation for security.txt file.  The default is below:

    c a * * *

    f d * * +

    x d * * +

I am assuming that the trace file is associated with the c command.  Can you let me know what should be the syntax to allow users to see the trace file?

Thanks and have a nice day,

    Silvia

    Hi Silvia,

I mean the security profile on ESP side, not the security.txt on agent side.

I believe it's related to the access setup of profile

    AGENTMSG.verbsubverb.agentname

AGENTMSG.verbsubverb.agentname controls the user's ability to issue commands and send messages to Agents using the AGENTMSG command.

You will need to check with your ESP support or mainframe sys admin.

    Thank you,

    Lucy

    Lucy,

    Per a chat below,

at safeway access is handled by infosec

    1:08 PM

If it is a RACF issue

Can you let me know if this would be a RACF issue?

Thanks and have a nice day,

    Silvia

    Hi Silvia,

Yes, you will need to contact the RACF admin who can grant your user id the proper access to the security profile.

Note: He should know the exact profile name and required access by checking the related RACF error.

    Thank you,

    Lucy

    Lucy,

I contacted my RACF and got access.  I am now getting a different error:

    Request failed

Could not find or access log directory. Searched directories: null

    ESPWSS000 -->

Any ideas on how to fix this issue.

Thanks and have a nice day,

    Silvia

    Hi Silvia,

Glad that you are making progress.

The new error might be caused by wrong log directory specified. If you need more help, suggest that you open a support ticket and provide related data (screen shots, agent logs etc).

    Thank you,
