If you don't use CA Chorus Software Manager (formerly known as CA Mainframe Software Manager ) to apply maintenance we now offer a new utility CAUNZIP to simplify maintenance management .

CAUNZIP is delivered as part of CA Common Services Version 14.0 with PTF RO54887 and CA Common Services Release 14.1 with PTFs RO54635 and RO58216 .
You can find the documentation for it in the latest version of the CA Common Services for z/OS Administration Guide 14.1 .

CAUNZIP runs as an online TSO command but can be run in batch. This utility extracts the contents of a Published Solutions maintenance package order from the Download Center on CA Support Online and produces a Network Temporary Store (NTS) formatted set of z/OS UNIX files . These files can be used in SMP/E RECEIVE processing.
With this utility you can now ftp files directly to z/OS from the support ftp site without having to transfer to windows first to unzip the contents of the package.
You can now order all PTFs published after a certain date in one zip file and extract the file directly on z/OS with CAUNZIP.
When receiving multiple PTFs like this remember to download the latest SMP/E HOLDDATA and receive the HOLDDATA together with the PTFs.

You can now order customized maintenance packages that contain all PTFs published after any desired date. You can process those packages directly on z/OS using CAUNZIP. With this enhanced capability, Aggregate Maintenance is no longer needed and was discontinued December 31, 2013.
