  • 1.  Alert for Longrunning transactions

    Hello Colleagues.

I'd like your advise about this question: we have many long running transactions executing in several CICS regions, they are monitored by CA SYSVIEW, as per bussiness needed we have to raise  an alert when one of these transactions went down(by abend  or manual intervention).
Is there some way to get an alert or any other alarm for this cases..
I appreciate so much your advise .
    Best regards
    Fernando

    Fernando,
SYSVIEW has the ability to monitor 'required transactions'.  You can define explicit required tranids and SYSVIEW will periodically check and alert you if it is not currently active.  This monitoring is defined via the Required option in the CTRANOPT parmlib member (see link below) or using the CTRANOPT command, and the current status of a required transaction is determined by the TRANSTAT state (see CSTATES).
