sun setting application data and want to be able to view later w/o idms

    I have a client that is sun setting an want so archive off the data and be able to view it at a later time w/o using IDMS.  Has anyone experienced
    this before, if so can you share how you did it?

    My thoughts – I would run a series of CA-CULPRITs (or other report writers with an idms interface) to build flat files of data (pulling in the FK/PK currently pointed to by only an owner key)

     

    Then use some process to interrogate the unloaded (tape? Bdam? VSAM?) with appropriate joining of data to form logical data structures for reporting purposes
