  • 1.  REST API for job status in CA-Workload Automation 11.3?

    Posted Jan 11, 2018 01:34 PM

We use CA-Workload Automation version EE 11.3 build 98.

We'd like to be able to use a REST API to get the status of the jobs status (running, failed, succeeded).

Is that available for this product?

If so, can someone point me to the documentation?

    Thanks!

    Hi Elise,

I added the category and tag, so that the right group of people can see it.

Thank you for your interest, the REST API is a separate feature used by the new ESP UI - Intelligence experience which is not GA'd yet.

You can register on validate.ca.com, then you should be able to access the related documents.

    Regards,

    Lucy

    Thank you Lucy,

Yes, New REST APIs will give back the job status back.  We have started validation of this product and we are planning GA timeline now.

Please contact me in case you have interest to participate in validation- tatevik.stepanyan@ca.com

Hello Tatevik - Even we are looking for REST APIs to read job status and we are using CA Work Load Automation (Autosys) 11.3.6 SP4. Could you please help me with some documentations on this?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Rohit,

Documentation covering the CA Workload Automation AE (AutoSys) RESTful API can be located on our docops pages at the following address:

    https://docops.ca.com/ca-workload-automation-ae/11-4-2/en/reference/ae-web-services

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

Could you please help us with this? I even try browsing through documentation portal. Even there there is same error message. Is there a place where I can find information on this?

We are trying to build some apps to monitor Autosys jobs and this API will definitely help us a lot.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Rohit,

In order to access the docops site you will need to request access to support.ca.com. The link is below. There is a

CA Support Online - CA Technologies

On the top right of the page is a "Register" option.

If you are trying to monitor jobs that complete in Autosys and continue the stream in ESP(EE) you could look to see if the EXTSCH statement is what you are looking for.  Let me know if you need details on how to use this.

Let me know if I "missed the boat"

Thank you so much for your response and additional tip!!

Yes, we can try using EXTSCH statement if it is difficult to use APIs. Could you please help me how to use this?

Can this be used in external applications like JAVA or Python based programming?

    Thanks a lot!!
