A new utility called CASPLIT has just been released in Support Online for use by CA mainframe customers.

The purpose of the CASPLIT utility is to reduce the time it takes to FTP very large files to CA directly from mainframe z/OS systems. Instead of sending one large file, CASPLIT will first compress the file, then split it into smaller segments and FTP multiple segments concurrently. It is a TSO panel driven utility that generates the JCL required to do the AMATERSE compression, splitting of the file and FTP of the segments.

The Utility can be downloaded from the Download Center page of Support Online in the Freeware Utilities / Toolbox section: https://support.ca.com/irj/portal/anonymous/login?NavigationTarget=navurl://9a76e244e67221e9c4f832b1d29cca4f

There are two videos which explain how to install and use the CASPLIT Utility.

Is CASPLIT similar to PGM=AMAPDUPL (which combined the AMATERSE/FTP functions and added multi-threading)?

    Thanks,  Bill

Hi Bill, Yes CASPLIT performs similar functions to PDUU, the difference is that PDUU will send files to IBM. CASPLIT will send the files to the CA FTP server. I am attaching the documentation in case you haven't seen it yet.
