  • 1.  Using OPS to logon to Linux and run script

I am looking for suggestions on the best way to logon to a Linux server and run a script.   I can manually start an OMVS session on the MF and SSH to the server to run a script.   Is there a way to do this with an OPS session, either a function or address?   I am sure it could be done through JCL, but I would like to be able to interrogate the command return codes.

    Thanks

    Chris,

While the rest of the Community looks at your questions please visit this thread on a similar one asked in this forum:

Sounds like Address USS is an option for you. However, look at other alternatives we provide to the client in this thread.

    Hope this all helps Chris.

    Regards, Cesar

I need to create a live session with the Linux server.   Emulating a person logging on and executing a script.  It can be done through  BPXBATCH like Lizzette said, but I’m looking for an interactive process, if possible.

    Hello Chris,

If the live session with the Linux Server is something you can initiate from a TSO Session then consider review the External Product Interface (EPI) feature via this URL link:

See if what is provided could be used to address your specific automation needs Chris.
