CA Spool r11.7 Java Transformers - User Guide

Hi,

 

We have recently installed CA Spool r11.7 Java Transformers in our z/OS system. Our goal is to transform metacode to PDF. We used the "Java Transformers Administration Guide" manual as a guide to the installation process. But now we can't find documentation on how to use the product. Is there a User Guide manual for transformers ? If not, where can we find information on how to use it ?

Hello Marcus,

 

Glad to hear you are trying our Java Trasnformers feature.

There is a r12 release of CA Spool and the Java Transformer you should consider using as it contains the most current code for these features.

 

When time permits please visit the "Chapter 1: Introduction" on page 17 of the Administration Guide for item "How the Java Transformers Work".

Look at pages 17 and 18 so you have an idea how the feature is used once it is fully installed and configured for use.

The Metacode Java Trasnformer requires resources that normally resides on Xerox printers to be available on the Mainframe via USS directories.

So there might be other aspects of this software that will probably be better address via a Customer Support ticket.
