We are pleased to announce an update to the Client Manager and Runtimes, in which we have upgraded 3rd party components: Xerces-C, cURL and OpenSSL.
- Technical currency has many benefits, including vendor support and the latest security improvements. This is one more step in Gen's ongoing commitment to the longevity and security of your applications.
- This upgrade also shifts from statically linking these components to building with the shared library/DLL equivalent. Using DLLs and Shared libraries has 2 key benefits:
- Allows future version upgrades to be more seamless (In most cases, no product rebuilds!)
- Enable flexibility to use the 3rd party shared libraries/DLLs delivered, or change your LIBRARY path to use a version you may already have on your system.
You can find these PTFs in the Gen 8.6 Solutions & Patches.
