    Hello guys

    Have you ever seen any error like that:

    FAILED* REM-86 DYNAMIC ALLOCATION FAILED 970C-0000 SMS RC 0000402

    It was issued when an atempt to transmit a file from one environment to the other. searched  on the Intenet and I had few results. Just some references to the IBM SMS (Storage Management Facility).

    Do you know if there is any manual with this codes related. The RC "402"  wasn't found in FTS help menu.

    Hi Marcio,

     

    Any return codes are ones we have received from IBM and are simply reporting.

    As you are likely aware, the 970C indicates  a Severe SMS VTOC error.

    The various IBM sources indicate that if no accompanying messages appear, additional information can be found in the logrec, but getting there is a bit convoluted as described in IBM APAR II05256:  HOW TO GET MORE INFORMATION ON DYNAMIC ALLOCATION REASON CODES 9700, 9704, 9708, 970C, 9710, AND 9714 FROM SMS.

     

    This error can have various causes. You may want to start by checking with your SMS or security groups. 

    If that is not helpful,  we are happy to assist in resolving this, but this will require more in-depth review, so please open a case so that we can work with you further.
