  • 1.  CA IDMS cross-post - add UOW-info to PMAM data source

    Posted Oct 18, 2016 04:54 PM

For CA MICS IDMS Analyzer clients, please consider this cross-post for a long-standing CA IDMS PERFMON (PMAM, task statistics) data source.  Interested CA IDMS sites are encouraged to VOTE-UP this enhancement.

Add FMH5 data to PMAM-generated SMF transactions

Today, IDMS application performance analysis/reporting is hampered because although CICS, DB2, MQ transaction performance data sources carry the "FMH5 revealing NETNAME and UOWID-information, the IDMS PERFMON / PMAM data source for a cross-technology does not provide this information to enhance data correlation.

The link below is available for a past CA WORLD 2008 presentation I contributed on the topic related to UOWID-level reporting for performance problem debugging.

    Hello All,

Our CA IDMS Development Team is currently working on a new feature to include the Netname and UOWID in our PMAM SMF record.  We are coordinating our change with the CA MICS IDMS Analyzer development team. This allows our customers to correlate IDMS transactions for analysis and management reporting.

We are looking for customers to join our Customer Validation Program.  We have monthly WebEx meetings to discuss all new features and get feedback.  As a participate in the program, you get early access to the New Feature APARs.  You can apply and test the APARs in your environment, and provide input to us for change.  Our next call is coming up November 13th, 2018.  Please use this link to register:  validate.ca.com

    Thank you!
