Does anyone know if there is an option with CA-View 12.2 to get information on job runs ?. Specifically looking to see when a user may have last accessed a report and also the last time a report may  have been printed.

    Thanks

    Hi

This information can be got from CA View today, regardless of release.

There is a feature in View called Metrix. This uses SMF records to give information like: What a report is accessed and by whom. When it is printed. When user’s logon etc.

    Cheers

    Jorgen

    Hi Jorgen,

Really appreciate the reply back. Do you happen to know where we could get a sample of JCL,etc to setup this Metrix to run some reports ?

    Thanks

    Jake

Hi Jake. There was a slight mistake in my previous entry, sorry. If you look for 'Metrics' you will find setup and reporting documented in the manuals.

    Generate Metrics Reports

The Metrics reports are generated using the JCL member (HBRMMETX) that was installed into CAI.CVDEJCCL from the CA View installation tape. This JCL can be tailored to meet the needs of your data center, but do not modify the ddnames.

Thank you, Jorgen, for your helpful reply.  Thank you, Jake, for raising the question. I hope that the following links in the CA View 12.2 documentation are also helpful:

    • Metrics - Explains how to set up the Metrics reports. Includes information about the SMF records on which the reports are based.
    • The Metrics Report - Is the section that Jake quoted. Includes a listing of the data in each report and sample reports.
