A SOURCEID is a 1 to 64 character identifier (name) to associate PTFs or SYSMODs with one another.  For example, within a given PTF you may see a   SOURCEID(CAP1407)  and a  SOURCEID(CAR1408)  which are described as follows:

    - SOURCEID(CAPyymm) refers to CA Preventive Maintenance where yymm represents the year and month that the PTF was published and made available for customers.

    - SOURCEID(CARyymm) refers to CA Recommended Service where yymm represents the year and month that the CA RS maintenance was released (note that CA RS maintenance is released monthly).  PTFs, HIPERs, and PRPs  (PTF resolving a PTF in error) are tested for at least 30 days based on the new simplified and timelier testing process.

See this link for additional information regarding CA's Proactive Maintenance Strategy for CA Common Services.
