To enable our customers to more easily capture relevant data about a network event in the Alert Monitor, the NetMaster product team has added a new feature to NetMaster for TCP/IP at the 12.2 release level.

PTFs LU03389 and LU03390 enable event detectors of the CONSOLE, CUSTOM, FTP, and SYSLOG types to specify a new option for the type of alert - ANNOTATE. Multiple event detectors can be configured with this new type to collect data from multiple events within the system. The initial alert created will be updated by subsequent event detectors and the additional information will be added as notes to the original alert.

This new functionality allows you to enrich the alert data around an event so that you can easily have all relevant data for an event or error available to you in one place to help you troubleshoot and resolve errors.

Please see the release notes for this new feature in our techdocs platform at https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-mainframe-software/performance-and-storage/ca-netmaster-network-management-for-tcp-ip/12-2/release-notes/new-features.html.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or comments about this new feature. You can submit ideas for product enhancements on this communities site under Ideas at the top of the page.
