CA Spool Web menu interface to support Apache server

The CA Spool Web menu interface has components that are provided by the IBM for HTTP serving as contained in the Domino-based IBM HTTP Server 5.3 distribution. z/OS 2.1 will be the last z/OS release to include this software. It will be available in z/OS 2.1 concurrently with an Apache-based IBM HTTP V8.5 server until z/OS 2.2. The CA Spool Web menu interface feature currently only supports the Domino-based HTTP server. An Idea has been opened under our Communities web site in this subject. You are more than welcome to participate by posting a comment on it..

We got z/OS with Apache Server 9.0.

Are there any news / plans on moving to this from Domino?

Yes, I have news for you.

Support for the new IBM provided Apache server is provided under release 12.0 via published APAR RO83091.

Please review the APAR and consider installing it after you upgrade to CA Spool release 12.0 in case you are not already running the latest release.

I Applied APAR RO83091 into out R12 CSI. But all it does is to update the WEB server Procedure to what we already have changed.

 

After Logon to WEBSERVER we get  Error: Undefined page requested

 

But we see no errors in the error_log file

Only track is in the access_log:

The manual describes Z/OS 2.2 with IHS 8.5. But we have a IHS 9.0 (IHS  = IBM WEB SERVER)

Yes, you are correct about the PTF and what it does. We actually have not modified the CA Spool provided web application for the new HTTP Apache Server.

The problem you are reporting is very similar to another one we are currently working with another client.

Would you be able to open a case today so we can go over it? Feel free to refer in the case to me so your it can find its way to me.

Hello Ib and the rest of the Community,

 

For the "Error: Undefined page requested" problem reported by IB earlier in this thread we have written a solution that resolves the problem under our two supported releases.

If you are planning to use the IBM Apache HTTP Server provided by z/OS 2.2 in conjunction with the CA Spool Web interface under releases 11.7 and 12.0 please download and install the following PTFs:

CA SPOOL    11.7     RO86522

CA SPOOL    12.0     RO86487

 

The fixes were published few days ago. For those who installed the test versions feel free to install these published versions when time permits.

Any other problems using IBM Apache HTTP Server in conjunction with the CA Spool Web interface under releases 11.7 and 12.0 please cut a new issue.
