Oct 29, 2007 01:07 PM

In mid September of this year (2007), the updates to Altiris RTSM, OOBM, and OOBSC provided support for the following Intel vPro and Centrino Pro capabilities: First, take a look at a previous article\post about Intel AMT versions and features. At the bottom of that article, the Intel SCS versioning is explained. With the latest release of Altiris OOBSC, the Intel SCS version is 3.0. If unsure what version you are running, check the AMTconfig windows service version information. Intel SCS version 3.0 is the latest Altiris validated version. However, if you want to try a newer version, click here. NOTE:Test this offline from the production systems before deploying. With that - some key items you'll notice in the Altiris Client Management Suite with the latest release:

  • Ability to central change Intel AMT password whether in SMB or Enterprise mode
  • Support for wireless profiles for Intel AMT. This includes support for WPA\WPA2.
  • Support for 802.1x in the Intel AMT profile. EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, EAP-FAST, and PEAP-MSCHAPv2 supported
  • Mutual TLS for management traffic once the Intel AMT engine is in a configured state
  • Support for Remote Configuration - identified as "Delayed Provisioning" in the Altiris console. More information on using this option is forthcoming.
  • Support for Kerberos authentication into an Intel AMT device, which requires integration into Microsoft Active Directory. (you'll see a prompt\option to extend the directory schema)
  • Integration of Intel AMT functionalities in the Altiris TaskServer (may require update of the TaskServer)
  • Integration of the Enterprise Network Filters (check out the latest post on this)
