IT Management Suite 7.1 Beta is Almost Here
Get out and get testing! The IT Management Suite 7.1 beta will be ready in the next few weeks. The beta includes updates to all suites, including Client Management, Server Management, Asset Management and ServiceDesk. You can look forward to testing the terrific new features as highlighted in our Top 10 list.
As a reminder the Altiris Beta Program merged into Symantec’s Connect community in late April. Customers may now leverage their SymAccount to access beta software, comment on forums, earn Connect points for prizes, and much more.

Symantec is the First Vendor to Solve Windows 7 Migration Issues relating to Internet Explorer 6
Symantec will release a new option as part of our application virtualization product to virtualize Internet Explorer 6. Many customers cannot move to Windows 7 because of numerous dependencies on the older web browser. Our approach enables side by side Internet Explorer v8 and v6 compatibility without the need for Med-V. More importantly the solution offers a secure implementation that is invisible to the user.
Administrators can determine which applications should have access to the specific browser – eliminating use beyond specified programs. End users are never prompted on which browser to use – the correct version automatically opens for them based on policy. This option will help you move faster and more efficiently to Windows 7 without spending thousands if not millions on upgrading software in the near term. Symantec Workspace Corporate 6.2 MP2 – Released
Symantec Workspace Corporate provides secure and efficient connection brokerage, single sign-on, local printing and location awareness functionality between end-users, virtual workspaces, and other centralized resources. Details on the new release are available in the ALTIRIS KNOWLEDGEBASE.
Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite 6.1 SP6 – September Release
This release adds 64-bit agent and Office 2010 support, as well as automatic application streaming by file association, streaming dependent packages automatically, and a browser selection tool. Details on the new release are available in the ALTIRIS KNOWLEDGEBASE.
Mobile Management Gets Hip
