To me this sounds as either something within the VM is not configured correctly (subnet mask, default gateway, DNS servers), or that you have firewall or port security configured on the physical side.

Subject: ESXi VM Network Issue – Outbound Ping Not Working
Hi everyone,
I have installed ESXi on my server successfully. After that, I created a virtual machine (VM) through the web interface and tried to connect it to the network. However, the VM is not recognizing the external network properly.
Here's the issue:
- I can ping the VM from external devices.
- The VM can ping the ESXi host and other machines within the local network.
- However, the VM cannot ping external addresses or communicate outside the VLAN.
Additional details:
- I am using a Standard vSwitch (vSS).
- No VLAN ID is configured.
I suspect there might be something misconfigured in my vSwitch settings. Does anyone have any ideas or troubleshooting tips? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
