Note!: This content is created, using SMS 7.5 SP1 release

If you're using a "Altiris Monitor Solution" 7.5 SP1 release, and you:

• would like to monitor all your managed Windows Servers for their "Reboot" or "Return back online from shutdown state" events?
• would like to see raised alerts in "Event Console" on these events?
• would like to receive notification alerts via email?

Then you need just to:

• Open SMP Console ⇒ Open "Import Monitor Pack" ⇒ click "Add" ⇒ choose attached .xml ⇒ after that this monitor policy will be available ⇒ click on it and click "Schedule" button ⇒ "Run now" and click "OK".

• Now this imported Monitor Policy is available in SMP Console ⇒ open Monitor policy and set required "Resource Target" ⇒ receive this Monitor policy on Windows Server(s) which has agent-based Monitor Agent installed.
• You can change Rule alert severity, condition, etc.

Note!:

After import of this monitor policy and to have ability to receive alert notifications via send email task, you need to:

1. Make sure that you have configured SMTP settings in "Notification Server Settings" page

2. You need to specify correct email address in exported "Send Email - Windows Server shutdown/restart", which is used by imported Monitor policy

• When Rule will be triggered, you will see alert in Event Console and receive notification alert message in your "Inbox"

• You will see all other metric details for appeared alert after mouse double click on this alert in Event Console.

Note:

• These rules are set to "Update Manually", otherwise, if this alert has appeared from monitored resource and you didn't manually resolve it on "Event Console", then you will don't see any new raised same rule alert from same monitored resource. You need to manually resolve this alert in EC.
