Does anyone have the SSRANGE option activated for COBOL compiles?  If so, is it only used for compiles in a testing scenario and then a recompile done without it for production?  The reason for turning it off for production would be to limit performance overhead.

Is anyone able to assist this user with their question?

    Thank you

I would suggest using SSRANGE only for test compiles. The default is NOSSRANGE which tells me IBM intends it to be used on a limited basis.... likewise IBM expressing the need to specify CHECK(OFF) as a runtime option if you compiled with the option active. IBM Knowledge Center
