Issues with SEP 11.0 RU6 MP2

  • 1.  Issues with SEP 11.0 RU6 MP2

    Hello,

     

    Symantec have released SEP 11.0 RU6a MP2 version in Dec 2010. Do any one have upgraded there existing environment to this build/release. Are there any issues occurred while during as well as after upgrade.

    Pls share...

    There are quiet a few issues that have been fixed , not yet heard of any issues with RU6MP2 uptill now

    Personally, I have not heard about any issue raised in RU6 MP2.

    After upgrading four Dell XFR 6400 Laptops running Windows 7 32 bit Professional and the NetMotion Mobility XE VPN to RU6 MP2(with NTP) from RU6 MP1 these systems now generate BSODs. Now trying to find out the cause.

    Just wanted to let everyone know that.

    Which SEP components (AV/AS, NTP, Truscan, Application and device control) are installed on these machines?

    Originally AV/AS and TruScan. We were going to include NTP for Intrusion prevention. Now I may have to roll them back to RU6a or RU6 MP1.

    How did you uprade? Over the VPN connection?

    Or did you copy the files locally then run them direct from the local drive on the computer?

    If across the network while they were VPN'd in, I've seen such issues - with PAST builds.
    I try really hard to not push upgrades to VPN'd computers using group update. I manually push the upgrade to them as that copies the files locally, then launches setup.

    These were upgraded using direct LAN connections from docking stations. These systems have wireless adapters and aircards. They also load NetMotion drivers. I haven't seen these problems with systems running RU6a or RU5

    Hm, the only way to check it would be to open a case witch TechSupport and sned them full mem dump after BSoD. Have you tried to update system drivers?

    We have upgraded our 2 SEPM servers and a few workstations to RU6 MP2 to test and have not had any productivity issues as of yet.

    I've seen communication problems after install from RU6 to RU6 MP2 but i think it was because of a corrupt DB. After I reinstalled RU6 and restored the DB and then again update to RU6 MP2 everything worked fine.

    Did you had the correct DB backup..Or was it the Corrupted DB you backed up ?
