Sep 08, 2016 02:23 AM

The purpose of this advisory is to inform you of potential changes that are expected to occur with delivering CA Client Automation Patch Management Windows Patch Content. Please read the information provided below in order to understand the impact of the change.

PRODUCT(S) AFFECTED: CA Client Automation               RELEASE: 12.8 and Above

CHANGE DESCRIPTION:

In an announcement dated August 15th, 2016, Microsoft plans to introduce monthly rollups for Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 Gold, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Gold starting from October 2016. Individual updates will no longer be available for the affected platforms. This will impact our ability to publish FULL, DELTA and IntelliRollups for these platforms.

Please note that CA Rollups for Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2 are unlikely to be affected as these platforms are based on old packaging technology. Information pertaining to how this impacts Office security updates is not available currently and is awaited.

We are working with our respective Microsoft partners to gain early access to the rollups and understand how they will be made available and can be deployed.

As of today, the plan is to publish these rollups provided by Microsoft as Individual patches in CA Patch Manager and is subject to early access and technical feasibility.

We will be sending out a follow-up communication with more details as soon as we get more insights in to this change.
