Tech tip: net_connect fails to open: communication error / Run-time error '91'

Issue:
When I try to open the netconnect probe in IM it gives the following error:


Communication error
+
Run-time error '91'
Object variable or With block variable not set


 
Environment:
UIM 8.x
net_connect any version
Cause:
The errors may be due to monitored profile over-scale. If there are too many active profiles (Eg. 2000+ profiles) the probe is too busy to handle the GUI, so it can generate these errors.
Resolution:
An option to avoid these errors is to split load of the net_conect into 2 instances of the net_connect probe.

If you need to monitor a very high number of devices (2000+) from 1 single server you also have the option of building a second robot on the same server, and deploying a second net_connect probe on the second robot. This KB explains how
