SOI Tech Tips: SOI Console Application not starting on Client

SOI 3.2 and SOI 3.3

 

When the "Maximum client memory usage (megabytes) value in SOI Admin UI - UI Server Configuration - JNLP Configuration is increased to a value greater than 1024,

for example 1280, the SOI Console application on Client PCs that have Java 64 bit version 1.8 installed does not startup anymore. There is no error message or message pop

up generated.

 

SOI 3.3 requires JRE 1.7.0_11 on the SOI UI Server but does not specify a required version on the Clients.

 

We have tested that the SOI Console startsup correct with JRE 1.8 32 bit version on the client PC or the JRE 1.7.0_71 64 bit version.

 

When the JNLP configuration settings on the SOI Admin UI has been modified, the CA Service Operations Insight Console Application has to be removed from the Java Cache and reloaded from the SOI UI Server.
