Major components released in January and February, 2016
1. CA Unified Infrastructure Management 8.4 was released
CA Unified Infrastructure Management 8.4 includes new features to streamline product administration, add in-context integration with CA Application Delivery Analysis (ADA), and an update to the UIM mobile app for notifications and increased Android support. The 8.4 release also continues to deliver on our commitment to quality, with a 50% reduction in outstanding defects and fixes for over 100 customer reported issues.
This release includes:
- CA Unified Infrastructure Management Server (the core application engine)
- Unified Management Portal (web interface)
- Unified Reporter (advanced reporting engine)
This release contains the powerful new features outlined below in addition to usability enhancements, scale and performance improvements, and changes that improve security.
Monitoring Configuration Service (MCS):
- Intuitive, in-context access from within USM simplifies the configuration of monitoring for administrators.
- Quick, scalable configuration and deployment across numerous devices with the application of monitoring at the group level.
- Added efficiency through the re-use and copying of monitoring profiles across groups or devices.
- Simplified, task-oriented configuration that focuses users on monitoring needs instead of probe selection.
- Simplified configuration for 14 of the most commonly used probes.
Application Delivery Analysis ( CA ADA) Integration with CA UIM:
- Detect, isolate and resolve problems faster using an intuitive workflow and unified view of your systems, networks and now application delivery performance data.
CA UIM Mobile 8.4:
- Customer-requested feature for native, OS-level push notifications on both iOS and Android devices.
- Enables mobile alarm awareness even when the app is terminated or is running in the background.
- Configurable for various alarm severities.
- Adds support for Android Lollipop.
