What is the meaning of job execution error in ITCM(Patch Mgmt.) tool?

    Whenever we deploy patch on server we get error like job execution error, installation of one or more patches in rollup container failed and due to this error we are unable to conclude that on that particular server whether the required patching process is successful or not. 
    This is a big issue for us as we are not able to further communicate to the server team that the patching is successful and they can proceed to reboot the server


    Earlier when we deployed patches most patch summary was showing successful but as soon as CA Patch Me Security IntelliRollup came most patch summary was showing in error status i.e.,  Job execution error, installation of one or more patches in the rollup container failed. [SDM228515].

    Please let us know how to proceed with patching so that max patching is successful and summary shows max in Ok status.

    Hi Shiva,



    You need to identify which computer failed, then navigate on the GUI to
    that computer and look at the list of “\Jobs\Software Jobs\”. Looking at
    the list of jobs you should see the individual patch that failed. Open that
    job and check the details as to why it failed.
