Am I required to install all the upgrades in between or is there a cumulative upgrade to consider to make this less work?

Direct upgrade between minor versions is usually supported - we upgraded direct from v9.1 to v9.4

FYI - some significant changes introduced at v9.3 (64bit images, SSL certs) which need to be factored in to the upgrade plans

    Hi James,

Everyone is correct, there is a direct upgrade to the latest 9.4x release. I remember having to redeploy a new desktop client (runClient.jar) to all my users in version 9.3, containing the new keystore files. I think it may have also required a minimum Java JRE level of 1.8.  The Broadcom document at https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/intelligent-automation/applications-manager/9-4-4/Release-Information/Release-Notes.html contains release notes for each version.

    Good luck!

    Jim

All upgrades are cumulative.  You can use the latest version.

    Hi James,

That is a good question you asked.  I saw the reply from Pat about some challenges with V9.3. We are running V9.3.5 and currently we are trying to get off the old storage which supports the Network Storage NFS to our systems. After that we are looking at some upgrades. Support has told me the version we are on V9.3.5 is going to be unsupported. I can't keep up with the dates but know it is coming.

We mentioned some challenges with V9.3.5. I think there was the user keystores we had to learn about and how that work.

And the client.jnlp file went to a new client the Runcliebt.jar.  Those are the ones that stand out for me.

I heard from support in the past how there is more big changes with V9.4+. Sorry if I have this wrong but I believe there are more changes.  I thought I heard they are switching to a new client way of logging in. I thought the Runclient.jar is being replaced with the need now to use Apache Tomcat to serve out a web app, a war file. I could be wrong.

With the current release we are on we change the Infro.html page so our users cannot login to download the client.zip. We extract that for them. And we package up the user keystores for them to download from a Teams channel.

I have not had time to understand what changed in V9.4+. I believe it might be up to 9.4.3 or something like that. Any information on that would be great. Thank you everyone.

    Rich
