Upgrade of CA Client Automation from 14.03 to 14.5 version . 

Before commencing any upgrade, particularly of Manager and Scalability Server components, we recommend a full backup of your existing installation to guard against loss of data.

1)  We are going ahead with the above recommendation still is there any entry or field which overwrites the existing details after upgrade so that we can save the same in our records.

2) Anything else that we keep in mind before upgrading the CA Client Automation to 14.5 version or for smooth upgrade , Plz let me know .

Hi Shiv,

Many hundreds of items are changed during the upgrade which is why a full backup/snapshot is recommended before doing the upgrade.

Before starting the upgrade make sure you are logged on with a user that has both administer privilege on the system but also the database.  Also make sure that you are the only user logged on/connected to the system.
