  • 1.  Need to install APM .Net Agnet on Sharepoint application server , have multiple doubts

    Posted Mar 06, 2023 08:14 AM

Actually we have 10.7.0.45 version of APM application installed with HF60 patch on it and we have to monitor Sharepoint application server but already there is an agent installed on that server with 10.0.0.12 version and when we uninstall this agent then we are getting below error

    Access is denied 'Wily.agent'

How can we resolve this ?

We also want to know whether the installable as shown in the attached screenshot is correct to install .NET agents on the server we want to monitor

& which one do we use to install the .Net agent on 64 bit operating system MS Windows 2012 R2 Standard server out of 6 files/folder ?

You'll need to uninstall the previous agent then install the latest.

You should also upgrade your APM cluster to 10.7 CHF84 to stay current with the supported version, unless you can't due to utilizing CEM in your environment.

    Hi Haruhiko Davis

Thanks for the reply but i'm yet to get the answers of my questions asked earlier

    Access is denied 'Wily.agent'

How can we resolve this ?
After all the permissions on the server,  the user with which we are uninstalling is a part of administrator , why then we are getting error while uninstalling older version of agent?
    Plz help

The answer is to uninstall the previous agent, which should remove the DLL from the GAC. Do not manually remove the agent unless you chose manual installation to begin with. If you did this then you can look up ways to remove a DLL from the GAC.

You will also need admin permissions when installing/uninstalling the agent.

Also keep in mind the GAC location has changed with newer versions for .NET and Windows.
