  • 1.  Manage Files on mapped Drives

    Posted Nov 08, 2022 07:46 AM

    Hi,
I have a network drive mapped to the PAM Server. When I now want to read a file from this mapped drive I get the error "The system cannot find the drive. failed to switch to to directory L:\tmp"
I know that it doesn't work, when the PAM service is running under the lokal system account, so I switched it to a domain user with lokal admin rights, but still the same error.

Can anyone tell me how I have to configure PAM and the File-Operator to be able to manage files on mapped network drives.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Markus

    Hi Markus,

did you test it with L:\\tmp?

    Hi Markus,

do you have the possibility to use a UNC path?

    For Example:  \\\\\\\\<servername>\\\\CatalogFileStore\\\\tmp

    Hi,

yes, then I get the Error:
“CMD unterstützt keine UNC-Pfade als aktuelles Verzeichnis“
Translated: CMD doesn’t support UNC Path for current Folders

    Hi Markus,

Perhaps you could share a screen capture of the operator Input Parameters.

I would specify the Working Directory on a local drive and the Source File Name as a UNC path. You should also include credentials in the User ID and Password.

    Cheers, Lindsay

    Hi Lindsay,
you are right. Wenn I use the UNC path within the filename, it works!
    Thanks and best regards,
    Markus
