It turned out the reports eventually ran fine, the above error indicates the report creation is still running.
We did have to downgrade the OC ump_dashboard to 20.43 as the "Email dashboard" functionality wasn't sending emails and also any dashboard with a line graph wasn't loading QoS. Working fine with ump_dashboard 20.43, it's been reported to support.
