The purpose of this Critical Alert is to inform you of a potential problem that may arise as a result of the CA Content Update Service changing IP Address. Please read the information provided below and follow the instructions in order to avoid being impacted by this problem.
PRODUCT(S) AFFECTED: CA Client Automation
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The "CA Content Update Service" application is moving to a new DMZ zone and due to this the "CA Content Update Service" (
contentupdate.broadcom.com) URL IP Address will change.
If your proxy/firewall rules contain the IP Address of the content service, or you are using a local Hosts configuration file for name to IP Address resolution then it will need to be updated with the new IP address.
CA Content Update Service cut-over details.
From: 5/24/2022 9.00 AM IST To: 5/24/2022 4.00 PM IST.
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS:
The Content download engine job will show as failed.
In CIC.log ,you can find CIC download error.
IMPACT:
Software Detection Signatures and Patch Manager content will not be updated.
PROBLEM RESOLUTION:
Update host file and proxy/firewall rules with the new IP address.
contentupdate.broadcom.com - New IP Address = 192.19.145.151(both external and internal will resolve to this same IP only)
The new IP Address will be active after 5/24/2022 4.00 PM IST.
No change in the URL name redirection enabled from
contentupdate.ca.com to
contentupdate.broadcom.com is being made.
