Tech Tips: Unexpected error in auto-refresh object factory: GC overhead limit exceeded

Sep 19, 2017 09:43 AM

Issue
We are getting the "Unexpected error in auto-refresh object factory: GC overhead limit exceeded" and the VSE goes down twice in the last two days. It requires a manual restart to bring it back.

Environment
All supported DevTest releases and platforms.

Cause
Have a lot of virtual services deployed to this VSE and recently deployed 2 to 4 additional virtual services to this same VSE, so more memory was needed to account for the new deployed services.

Resolution
Changed on the VirtualServiceEnvironmentService.vmoptions file these entries:

#-Xmx1024m
-Xms2048m

Brought down VSE.

Delete of rename the lisatmp folder.

Started VSE service up.

Verified Service up and running.

Have had no issues since we made the java heap size changes.
