Tech Tip: 'Send Email' Escalation Action working from SOI UI

'Send Email' Escalation Action is working from SOI Escalation policies but when I try to send email from Console it fails. - In SOI we need to provide Email server details in 2 places under 'Administrator' tab 1. CA Service Operations Insight Manager Configuration => => Email Configuration 2. CA Service Operations Insight UI Server Configuration => => Email Configuration If you miss to provide Email Server details in 2ed place (UI Server Email Configuration) and when try to send email manually it will not work. - The 'Send Email' Action works in Escalation Policy because you have provided Email server details in SOI Manager Email configuration setting and is used to execute action successfully. It also depends on how email server is configured, in some environment it is required to add respective servers to allow traffic in and you have added SOI manager details but not UI server details which you might want to check with your Email Administrator.
