from Miguel Silva to Everyone: Hello! I don't know if this question is suitable for this board, but I would like to know when the java eclipse plugin will be available
from Frederick Brandyburg to Everyone: @Miguel, Hi, we had previously planned the Java Eclipse plugin for release in 4.3 October. However, we have done some re planning and we are currently working on a 4.2.2 which will be out the end of this month, and then we are turning 4.3 into a 5.0 release with some significant new features including the Java Eclipse plugin. We are targeting the 1H of CY15 for this release but it is not finalized yet.
from Brian Ekmark to Everyone: Hello Mary ... Can I have an explanation around the use of a value map? Also, is it possible to convert a string into a value map?
from Tom Kouhsari to Everyone: @Brian - A ValueMap is structure which contains other variables inside of it. So for example, you can have a ValueMap named person, which contains String variables for firstName, lastName, address, etc. ValueMaps can be nested and you can have arrays of ValueMaps as well
from Brian Ekmark to Everyone: @Tom ... so it is similar to a Hash in perl for instance. Is that correct?
from Tom Kouhsari to Everyone: @Brian - There no direct way of turning a string into a ValueMap since there no single definition for that but you can create a ValueMap from contents within the string yourself
from Tom Kouhsari to Everyone: @Brian, I think it's probably closer to a Struct. A Hash allows you to look up a value based on a name.
from Brian Ekmark to Everyone: @Tom ... ok that puts it into perspective for me. Thank you.
from Miguel Silva to Everyone: Another question regarding the availability of PAM. We're currently in the beggining of planning a large PAM implementation that has to have high availability, is there any document that provides examples/guidance on that architecture? and is there any benchmark tests that CA could provide?
from Frederick Brandyburg to Everyone: @Miguel, we have a greenbook on architecture and scalability. It's dated, but the concepts and suggestions are still valid. We don't generally provide benchmarks but what I can tell you is with 4.2.1 we have seen between 4-10 operators per second in terms of execution with a two node cluster. I can provide more details offline when I find the result docs.
from Rick W to Everyone: I am having a process which has two Approval Tasks, 1- Manager, 2- Implementer. When approval tasks goes to Manager it has to select a scheduled date within IRF(date function) and want implementer task to be run on specific previous selected date. For example: manager has selected Implementation Date after a week, my task is to hold the Implementer task till a week. How can i achieve this, am using Delay Operator between Two Approval Task? I need to know how can I pass date values in Delay Operator to hold.
from Jose to Everyone: Hello! Is there a alternative way to get the Oracle JDBC drivers without have to re-run the PAM installer. i had tried placing the jdbc .JAR to the following locations '.CA\PAM\server\c2o\ext-lib''CA\PAM\Server\c2o\.c2orepository\.c2oserverresources\lib' .. No Luck
from Frederick Brandyburg to Everyone: @Jose currently the only supported way is through the installer.
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose is this for the PAM backend Database?
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose if this is for the PAM backend database, then the answer is the same, the only way to do this is via the installer.
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose if this is for use with the JDBC operator, then the drivers are added via the Manage Resources
from Jose to Everyone: @Jennifer.... I did try with the Manage Resources but it didnt seem to work that way ... The Operator kept failing saying .could not locate drivers
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose if that method is failing, then I would strongly suggest that you open a support issue as we need to deeper look into what is happening
from Sergio Castro to Everyone: Hi everyone, how can I disable a required field in a IRF by using scripting?
from Lokesh Mathur to Everyone: @Sergio We’ve added this support in the forthcoming 4.2.2 release which is going to be GA soon.
from Rick W to Everyone: Are there any plans for "self monitoring" capability?
from Frederick Brandyburg to Everyone: @Rick We are considering enhancements to the Operations tab to provide some basic system diagnostics for both system resources (e.g. memory/CPU utilization for Orchestrators) as well as at the process level (e.g. processes per minute, processes in flight etc. etc.) This is still in the planning stage and not yet committed to a release.
from Jose to Everyone: Hi!.. While designing a SRF i see one of the form elements as HTML.I was only able to do some html static designing but To what extend can this be used?
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose it really depends on what it is you are looking to do
from Jose to Everyone: @Jennifer.. I am looking to designing an interactive SRF .. may be like including some scripting language
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose We have added support for things like making modifications in one field, you can take action in another field. But we are limited - this is not intended to design for instance something that you would put on a web page. Building the web page and a hook then into PAM may be a better solution for you
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose What version of PAM are you using?
from Jose to Everyone: @ Jennifer 4.2.2
from Jose to Everyone: @ Jennifer When you say hook them to PAM.. are you talking about soap calls?
from Jose to Everyone: @ Jennifer or is there a better way
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose apologies, for the hook from the web page to the SRF, yes, use Web Service calls
from Jose to Everyone: In our environment we have issues with Touchpoint losing its connectivity to the Agents very frequently ...any known issues
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose if you are seeing this in 4.2.2 you need to get a support issue opened as this should not be happening.
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose if this is happening in a prior release you should also open a support issue
from Jennifer Jessup to Everyone: @Jose we need a lot more information and need to do some diagnostic review for this
from Jose to Everyone: We are planning for a QA env of PAM on the AWS cloud... Want to know if there are specific issues .. Would be DB need to be on the cloud as well.. And can there be any challenges
from Frederick Brandyburg to Everyone: @Jose We haven't seen any deployments in AWS as of yet but there shouldn't be any specific challenges as our network connectivity requirements are easily satisfied by AWS.
from Mary Greening - CA to Everyone: Hi Everyone! Thank you for joining today and participating.
