Hi Community!
As you may know, the ODBC and JDBC connection strings within the configuration files contain a password parameter for your database connection. This presents a security issue if you do not have restrictions in place on who has access to the configuration files. For this purpose we have the password encoding tool. Recently we had a user entering the same password into the tool and receiving different encoded passwords each time. I wanted to share this on community for other users who potentially run into the question. This is the expected behavior of the tool and is perfectly normal. Entering the same password into the encoding tool will result in different encoded passwords each time. I hope this has been helpful!
