We have an enhancement request open for the addition of a few more libraries files for the vApp r14.3 and vApp r14.4 that will allow use of X11 for client tools.
    - Note:  For ssh access, we use MobaXterm with its built-in X11 client functionality.   https://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/

If you wish to use Jxplorer or Apache Directory Studio under the 'config' userID, this may be interest for you.

Note:  This does not change the behavior of the vApp nor grant privileged access.

Access is still limited to the 'config' userID.

    Using X11 on Virtual Appliances
In this blog example, we will explore expanding the ability of Virtual Appliances to use X11 programs where possible instead of requiring a 2nd server to host the solutions' client tools. We will review how to enable the following client tools: CX (Symantec IM Connector Xpress), WF Designer (Symantec Workflow Designer), Wildfly/JBOSS Management UI, Jxplorer (LDAP Management UI), and Apache Directory Studio (LDAP Management UI).

With the exception of the IMPS Manager GUI (MS Win), we were able to use all IM/IG client tools running from the vApp.
-Note:  On vApp r14.4 the IAMSuite tool section/deployement has been reduced compared with vApp r14.3

    Cheers,

    A.
