Folks, the question isn't answered. Roll up conditions and container conditions may be mutually exclusive.
I appreciate the links and your time, but I feel that something is misunderstood in my query. When a branch office has no active routes to the Assurance Server, meaning you can't even ping it from the active Assurance Server, I've seen cases where the container is still green. This seems fundamentally wrong.
The roll up condition doesn't matter, yes it's red for that branch office but an admin looking at the topology map can rightfully assume that some switch went down at the branch office but that the office is still accessible.
Mirroring the roll up condition to the container's own condition may be disingenuous. If a few major alarms are fired off on a remote site, it doesn't mean the site is in Critical condition. If it's entirely inaccessible then it must be in critical condition since it can't be monitored.
Is there any documentation which explains how a container becomes critical, assuming you don't mirror the roll up condition?
