Just wanted to come back and confirm this point
We have a lot of customers still on 9.3 and to facilitate and motivate people to get to 10.x easily, we conducted tests and now officially support 9.3 to 10.1 DIRECT upgrades.
So it is a single hop upgrade now - no need to go to 9.4 or 10.0
We will be updating the documentation soon..
That's a super good piece of news!
I can confirm that it works perfectly
Thank you! Merci! Danke! Namaste! Arigato!
You have saved us hours of work in our upcoming upgrade of 9.3. This work and the positive result are much appreciated.
thanks Kiran, bumping this to the top
Has the documentation been updated? We are planning this very upgrade for this month, and would like to be prepared.
Thank you,Joe Poutre, BNP Paribas
Hi Joe, until kiran_diwakar has chance to respond this might help --> CA Spectrum Upgrade Content
Yes, direct upgrades from 9.3 to 10.1 have been verified and are supported. The docs were updated to reflect this:
Upgrading from Earlier Versions
This release supports direct upgrades to CA Spectrum 10.1 from the following versions of CA Spectrum:
· 9.3 H01
· 9.3 H02
Thank you Jason and Melissa, and to the CA Spectrum development team for giving me back some hours of my life when I finally do this upgrade.
I wanted to provide feedback on our production upgrade. All went well except the BOXI migration.
The Spectroservers and the OneClick upgrade went smoothly; the only upset was that one team had not installed Java 1.8.0 on their desktops, but that is not an app problem, just something to remind users repeatedly before upgrading.
In BOXI our scheduled reports were not transferred over, nor can we create new reports. We have an issue open with CA Support to find out why we are having this problem. If anyone else planning to upgrade has many BOXI reports it is something to be planned for.

there's another WIKI article,
Special Considerations - CA Spectrum - 10.1 and 10.1.1 - CA Technologies Documentation
that should be updated to, as it still says "This release supports direct upgrade from 188.8.131.52 or higher versions."
Thank you Martin…We have updated it.
Just to add, we have moved to 10.2 and it's very stable after applying some PTF's. We had some backup issues and hangs which PTF01 and PTF03 helped sort out. Very happy with the 10.2 release.
What problems did you have that required PTF's to be applied?
We had some issues on 2 landscapes where the backups would say 'Saving Database... SpectroSERVER paused' in our distributed environment. You couldn't stop the server gracefully and database saves were not happening (you would see the unzipped directory under SS-DB-Backups directory). You had to do 'kill -9 <SPECTRUM_PROC_ID>' and then a db restore. This patched sorted this issue out completely.
I think some of the improvements were SNMP related as it seems that side of things performs better too.
Archive Manager also died at least once a every 2 weeks on one of the secondary landscape (our busiest one over 600k models!), but that is all sorted out now too.
I'm trying to keep an eye out for problems. I also had some problems with the Report Manger installation and configuration during the upgrade from 9421 to 10.2. At least in one environment I've been working.
