  • 1.  Animator in ServiceDesk 14.1 - current locks climbing

    Hi all,

Can anyone please explain what exactly the animator_nxd.exe in task manager is supposed to do?

We have noticed that current locks are climbing.

So if we go to Admin--> System-->Current Locks, we see the below.

When we hit refresh, the number slowly goes up.

Can anyone please shed some light?

    Hi James,

The animator processes SLA events. So depending on how many SLA events get attached on an any ticket, multiply by the number of tickets this is what you will see. To help keep this number down, you may want to add a dedicated domsrvr and dbagent to process these faster.  Check this tech doc for steps about what I alluded to:

Creating a dedicated Domsrvr to the Animator Process for CA Service Desk Manager (SDM) r12.9 and r14.1 in Conventional M…
