    Hi all,

I want to set an environment where I can see dummy alarms.

Is there any option to populate dummy data continuously into spectrum instead of getting snmp traps from the devices?

Can someone please help me with this.

    Thanks,

    Sheethal

    Hi Sheethal,

You can use any third party utility to generate traps such as trapgen, iReasoning MIB Browser, etc...

    Thanks,

    Silvio

    Silvio,

The utilities you suggested are used to generate traps that we can do using snmptrap command and to get events we need to have entries for each OID in AlertMap and EventDisp file. This is the only option to see dummy data or do we have any other way?

    Thanks,

You can always use a device simulator that would have routers/switches simulated that can send traps to your test environment.

The method suggested by Silvio is faster and easier.
